That's maybe because the numered badges with this kind of pin are post war fakes...
Numberbed ceremonial badges had lugs... The private purchased made by 'De Greef' in Brussels had this kind of pin with 'C' catch and were
unnumbered.
A known type of fake badges are numbered and had pin and 'C' catch...

Strangest of things, Vettrans is 452 and mine is 453
Gerd I would like to know where is the proof that the numbered Rex badges are reproductions. You stated this before in the German Combat Awards Forum:
http://www.germancombatawards.com/threa ... adid=13867 Is “De Greef” the only Belgium firm that made these badges and how do you know that this firm did not placed serial numbers on the reverse of these badges? I have a very rare bronze badge that was found ground dug and has a three digit number and I have not found another one like it anywhere. Luc has a very rare bronze badge written in Flemish that I have only seen once. By the way I do have a silver Rex un-numbered badge.
One thing I have noticed is that the silver types with three digit numbers do appear more in collections but I would not state that they are repros without having some concrete evidence just my 2 cents.
