Chris, Where did you find the information of the late 1941 institution of the award?

Gaston, this is mentioned in the Littlejohn and Dodkins book. (page 117)

That Proficiency Rune looks original. But be aware they are extremely rare. Less than 200 were ever presented and there are only 10 originals known to exist in collections worldwide!!! So about the price..... a little fortune. I can only dream that a had an original one, instead of a replica.

Rugi, are you talking of the GERMANIC PROFICIENCY RUNES, or the Dutch SS Sports badge? Back to the GERMANIC PROFICIENCY RUNES, the silver is rarer. I have been compiling a list of winner. Hopefully this will be on the award section soon.

About the GERMANIC PROFICIENCY RUNES. The one you posted.

Perhaps beter to make a new topic on this. Then it will be less confusing.

And my source is: Detecting the fakes from Robin Lumsden.

Hello all, sorry I'm jumping into this posting so late but have been sooooo busy and keep getting distracted too, BUT the Dutch SS badge post by WarLord is the one I bought from Craig G. I have mailed it back and after a few Forums postings and the answers by those who know, I had no problem returning it to the Collector/Dealer.

Craig e-mailed me today saying he re-funded my money back to my card, so I guess this deal is complete and I'm rid of a very questionable badge.

Thanks to all who helped and those who responded to the post's.

I was already out of this months fundings three months ago.
But I will survive a quarrel with my wife for this...

By the way: soup is good food.
I will survive a month on it...

It is the first time I see the damned book.
I don't think I will get it but it is worth a try...
